And repeatedly get this same error message: When I power on my Macbook it automatically takes me to the recovery screen where I am faced with four options. I click on the option to reinstall Mac OS X Lion. It prompts me to enter my Wifi information and I do so. Then it prompts me for my Apple e-mail and password and I enter this. Then it tries to connect to the server and I keep getting told 'This item is temporarily unavailable, please try again later' message. I have been doing this for days, when exactly will later be? I regret ever buying anything Apple with all of the hoops they make you jump through to do the simplest of things.
I just want to fix this so I can rid myself of this awful machine. Thank you in advance for any help.
(Included below is a video that I took of all of the steps that I go through during the whole process that lead me to this message). Well, I went online and downloaded mountain lion off of my chromebook. Then I dragged it on to a usb flash stick.
Then I stuck it into the Macbook when it told me to after selecting the setting 'Restore from time machine backup' and when it was searching it didn't have any results. I don't know why Apples have to be so confusing. On any Windows laptop that I've ever owned you hold down whichever 'F' key while starting it up and you can set it to factory default that way. They must do this on purpose so you have to go to the Apple store to pay one of these pretentious Apple 'Geniuses' to do it for you.
When I start up this machine and select the fourth option 'Disk Utility' it then wants me to drag things from the left column referring to them as 'disk, volume or image' which I don't even know what that means. I have the white 13' Macbook early 2008 edition.
