I use The gmail app only for push notifications. As soon as I receive a notification I open Apple's Mail app and read the messages there. They make a product, get a lot of people to use it, then break one piece of by using some new method they want to be a standard they control. Everyone else using the existing working standard no longer works properly, and they refuse to blame google.

Instead it’s apples fault for not updating to googles new “standard” that went through zero standards committees or ones that google controls. They did it with webm and vp8 even though they later admitted it infringed on patents. They do no evil, right?
