Free Download For Mac Os X 10.4.11 Operating System

OS X is the Macintosh operating system from Apple - I'm afraid it has nothing to do with Microsoft. You'd do best to use the Apple Discussions forum or Apple Support, but you'll need to supply much more detail than what you've given here. Is there a download I can make to update OSX 10.4.11 and if so, will it cause me headaches. In other words. - Answered by a verified Mac Support Specialist.

Running Word 11.6.3 and Excel 11.6.4. While running Excel, suddenly typed keys were coming out as garbage, not the keys I typed. I restarted the o/s and now get the following error when trying to open either an Excel or Word file, or start Excel or Word. Looks like a major corruption. How do I recover from this? In this new account, Excel and Word are ok. I can run these applications, create new.xls and.doc files, close them and reedit them. All is as it should be. It was suggested in the mac forum that this might be a preferences issue and that I should locate the finder preference file and rename it.

I tried this, including rebooting, but the problem still persisted. I found a new finder preference file (.finder.plist) was created. Here is some of my dialogue from that forum. RE: if it [the word and excel problem in the newly created account] has gone away rename finder preference (Not sure of name). I created a new account, ran excel and word, created a simple file with each, saved the file and was able to reopen it. So your suggestion worked - looks like the finder preference is the problem.

Okay, I went to Library / Preference and searched for Word.plist and Excel.plist. I renamed both by adding the word remove into the file name. I then rebooted.

Arg, the problem is still there! I just found finder.plist. I'll try that now. RE: if it has gone away rename finder preference (Not sure of name). I changed finder.plist name and restarted (i.e. The problem still exists. I then went back and corrected the renaming of the excel.plist and word.plist files, and again renamed the finder.plist.

Restarted the laptop. Again, the problem did not go away. Quicktime for mac. Any suggestions of what to try next?? ----------- The feedback I then got was: Now that you know it is an office problem you could ask here: ----------- Does anyone know how I can resolve this Microsoft application problem??? My thanks in advance. My apologies. I pasted the wrong URL into the link.

I fixed the link above so that it. It lists the names and locations of all the Office preference files. You only need to remove application preferences (making sure the applications are not open when you do delete the preferences). Do not delete or move the applications or their folders. By any chance are you trying to use Office 2004 on a Mac with an Intel Processor? If so, don't bother trying.

It won't work. You'll need to purchase Office 2011 for that. I am an unpaid volunteer and do not work for Microsoft. 'Independent Advisors' work for contractors hired by Microsoft.
