I work in a computer lab, my main work area is separate from the racks where the servers sit. I often need to perform console tasks which cannot be performed remotely, and OneNote is a great way to document my steps, scripts, or other helpful hints. I gather the info, document in OneNote, then go into the server room with my iPhone or iPad and have access to the notes. Organizing stuff in OneNote by Section and Page makes it easy to find stuff.

And the instant sync to all devices makes it quite useful. Apple Notes is similarly useful for the same reasons but I started using OneNote before Apple updated Notes. OneNote is one of the best packages for keeping track of notes in an organized way. I use it both professionally and personally. You can have several different notebooks. I choose to use two.

One personal, one for work. Keep things organized by Section Groups, Sections and pages. For work, my Section Groups are something like Meetings, Projects and Vendors.
